I am in a 10 person, 1 player keeper league...My keeper is Shaun Alexander and I have the 6th pick. The best players still available are: Cadillac Williams, Rudi Johnson, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Reggie Bush, Ronnie Brown, Steve Smith, Ruben Droughns, Warrick Dunn, Deshaun Foster, Reggie Bush, and Willie Parker....I figure Williams, Johnson, Mcgahee, Brown and probably Bush will be taken. Who would you take? And would you take Bush over that player if he is still available?

Would you take Portis there even with his injury which could nag him all season?

Warrick Dunn, hands down - I had him last year and he came through just when I needed him, more importantly - see how many games he has missed? Almost none, along with Hines Ward.

Portis and McGahee are going to have HUGE years this year. Both their offensive coordinators are new and are very heavy on the run. I guarantee they will be big this year. Portis will be back by week 1....week 2 at the very latest. McGahee is looking very good in the preseason, which just goes to show of what is to come for the year. But you said this is a keeper league and if Bush is available, I would draft him so that I can keep him for the years to come. He will get plenty of touches this year, but think of what he will do next year and years after. You can't really pass up the most electric RB in the NFL even if he is over-rated at the moment. Dive into the hype and draft him on the sheer knowledge of what he will do as a keeper. Because if you don't, someone right after you will.

I still don't understand why Bush is being taken so far up. In my league, he dropped to the 6th round before someone got him. I've never done keeper before, but I would figure you'd want to take the best available RB left, excluding Portis and Bush. Here's why: Portis has a shoulder injury, meaning that whenever he gets tackled, defenses are going to be looking to hit that shoulder and hit it hard. If you do get Portis though, make sure you get Duckett later on. Bush isn't even going to be the starter down in N.O. He's going to be splitting carries with Deuce McAllister, so that drops his value WAYYY low.
Just get the best back available. Hope this helps.

I'd take Willie Parker. He will get the majority of the snaps, with Bettis gone. Also, Cowler has stated that Parker will even get most of the snaps around the goal line, as neither of the other backs have inspired him so far. That could change he said, but if you read between the lines, it spells additional touchdowns to go with Parker's solid yardage output from last season, especially if he stays healthy. Let someone else overextend on Reggie Bush. As long as Deuce is in NO, he'll get too many touches to make Reggie valuable. Sure, Reggie can catch the ball out of the slot, but in fantasy football, runningbacks with rushing yards are more valuable than a running back who can catch. It's a bonus to have one, but you can rack up the receiving yards with a receiver, which you can get plenty of later in the draft. That's just my two cents...

Portis is definitely a good option to draft if he's on the board. Although there is a little concern with both his shoulder and duckett stealing TD's, Portis will still carry the bulk of the 'skins offense. Also, if Peyton was not taken as a keeper, I would take him instead of portis.
If your'e still unsure of taking Portis, then Dunn is a great option since he will no longer have duckett as the TD vulture. He'll be getting more TD's to add to last years 1400 yd season.

None of them are that reliable of picks... I'd go with Steve Smith but than Keyshawn Johnson is also on the Panthers now so that negates his potential this year... the RB's you listed are all the same just about... try the old "eenie meenie minie moe..." option and that should get answer your question.
