Basic thing is NO SECRECY, ever......you tell ALL to whoever is around and the authorities if need be. You teach children that NOTHING, has ever happened in life, that has not happened to someone else....and nothing is so scary that cannot be helped by TALKING about it...to everyone...even if they are told by the abuser that they will kill their family OR its there own fault.

Children, girls, women need to know its not only OK but its their moral duty to STOP a person (family member or otherwise) who has a mental condition that ALLOWS them to hurt, abuse (physically or sexually)...because the perpertrator has no control over their actions.

The victim DOES have control....to stop that person doing it again or doing it to others. And the is support out there...even if their own family cannot defend itself...the ego wants to survive....so they should trust their own instincts and be an open book.

Women need to know when to get OUT at the first sign of verbal/physical abuse and not allow "love" feelings to cloud their judgement. Love feelings are BS anyway and is lust...unless you've had many years of total wonderful. Red flags ARE to be trusted....dont wait around for the tornado to hit...dont hide, just run.

You may need to add a few more specific details, protect from what? Abuse? Robbery?

Generally speaking, #1 call the police. Social services, a good therapist, depending on the problem.
