Instead of taking some over-the-counter crap, why don't you consult your doctor? Really. You might be stressed out. You might also have some allergy. Let a doctor tell you. Don't ask a plumber or taxi driver or truck driver answer questions that are better suited for a doctor to answer. Bad habit to get into. What if you do take something that you're allergic to by taking advice in a forum compose of people that don't know your medical history or what you're allergic to? Go see your regular doctor. Good luck and feel better.

You may have an allergy; try antihistamines like Benadryl which will help and also make you sleepy.
Other than that, melatonin helps you go to sleep if you take it just before turning off the lights; it reacts to changes in light.
You might want to see a doctor if the eye irritation persists, it could be an allergy or a mild infection, and you don't want to harm your sight.

well so you cant sleep coz of your eye irritation if that's the story try to have a cup of tea at the morning and have the bags in the fridge for the day and have them on your eyes for the night ( if they are dry moist them a bit )
that helps to reduce the irritation out of the eyes and pulls the heat out too.
if your having irritated eyes coz of your lack of sleep try to have a glass of hot milk before sleeping it helps as i hear
or read a boring book :) that may work too

When I couldn't sleep my friend told me to go for a walk before bedtime. I started walking around the backyard for 20 mins every night and it worked!

melatonin. is replaces the hormone "melatonin" that makes you fall asleep, I cant sleep either but this really works! and it is safe for you not expensive at all either
If you decide to take it make sure you do about an hour before you want to sleep.
Good Luck!
Sleep tight
