Being a delivery driver, can't understand why some people don't tip and why those same people assume we 'forget' and 'dont do anything to their food' We don't and we do.

First of all, at all the major pizza delivery spots the tip is already included in the price unless you pick it up. Second of all, not all pizza people are on time or very nice about it. I know because I used be a delivery person and I even moved up and managed a pizza joint. So don't get all bent out of shape. Also not all people can afford a tip, sometimes all they can afford is the pizza.

when I was in college the pizza places put the tip in with the bill...and when I say that I mean you get chanrged a delivery charge and then a tip charge. The tip charge goes directly to the driver...as in he recieves it with his pay check....I'm not sure exatly how they do it all but from what my one friend who was a delivery guy it added up to a lot of paperwork. Now that I'm back home I will admit I sometimes forget as I rarely get pizza anymore and have been so used to expecting the charge to be there...plus a few of the places here have now started putting the tip in the bill....and no you don't get to choose your tip its a percentage of the bill. And honestly I'd rather not tip than to tip twice since most of the delivery guys won't admit to you that you just double tipped.

When I delivered pizza, I got tips almost all the time... Maybe you are coming off as a jerk to the people you deliver to..

Considering you claim to 'do stuff to their food', I don't think even other delivery drivers would care to tip you...

People like you really give the food services industry a bad name...

Most people figure that since there's a delivery charge added on to the total that tipping isn't necessary. We order food often enough to where if I don't leave a tip on the receipt, my delivery person asks if everything is okay; even they know that it's extremely rare for me NOT to tip anyone that performs a service (delivery guys, salons, valets, waitstaff, etc.).

;-D

I have always tipped, but I never realized how hard the guys worked until I worked in a pizza shop. I started tipping more. I get upset because my husband tips the local pizza shop when he picks it up. I don't think that is necessary.

That's why I tip at least a fiver. I want to be remembered as a good tipper so my pizza is safe.

I have no idea why people don't think it's customary to tip the pizza guy. It's always been that way. I can remember tipping the pizza guy when I was a little kid almost 20 years ago.

I always tip the delivery man/ but it pisses me off when the pizza is cold or they forget some of your order.

Lol, now, that's comforting, where do you work, so I don't order. Ok, well I always tip, but perhaps people think of it as a "free" service since there is no delivery charge, or are simply unsatisfied with the 30-45 min window. I'm not really sure.

I've ordered pizza to be delivered once and just didn't know I was supposed to tip the delivery man.
