Treatments Of Acne Scars

Acne scars leave their mark not only on the skin but also on the persons' psyche. With rapid developments in dermatology, treating acne scars is becoming easier. Consult your dermatologist about the best treatment for your acne scars. The choice will depend upon your medical history, the type of scar and the treatments available for that type of scarring. Some treatments are cheaper but may not give the best results. The choice therefore also depends on your budget and the kind of results you desire. Read below for the kinds of treatments available for acne scars.

Dermabrasion:
This is considered one of the most effective treatments for acne scars. In this procedure, the doctor uses a local anesthetic or freezes the skin and then uses a high-speed rotary abrader to remove unwanted surface skin. As the skin heals, it shows a brighter appearance. This procedure may remove superficial scars totally and reduce deeper scars.

Chemical Peeling:
Depending on the scar, the doctor applies a mild chemical peel on the affected skin. This slowly peels away the old skin and fresh skin surfaces. Mild scars can be treated with chemical peels.

Laser Therapy:
Different lasers are used by the doctors to give a new shape to the scarred skin by recontouring the scars. The high burst of laser may make the skin red for some time.

Soft Tissue Filling:
Collagen, which may be bovine in source or the patients' own, may be injected below the scar to lift the skin and give it a smooth appearance. As the injected collagen gets absorbed in the body over a period, further treatments may be needed after about six months. Similarly fat may be injected below deep scars for giving a skin lift. Similar to collagen filling, fat injections may need to be repeated after some months. Your doctor will advise you about that.

Skin Surgery:
Skin may have to be surgically corrected with grafting or other procedures to remove some scars.

Microdermabrasion:
In this procedure. very tiny aluminum oxide crystals are passed through a vacuum tube to scrape the surface of the skin. This procedure may have to be repeated many times. It gives a fresh look to the skin by scraping. Very mild scarring can be treated with microdermabrasion.

Note:
For people who have the tendency to form keloids, no surgical method can be used. If one develops keloid with acne injury, more keloids will be formed by further surgery. Steroid injections may be used to treat keloids. In some cases, topical retinoic acid is applied directly on the keloids.

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

Before talking about the remedies, there's something you should know, when it comes to acne. Apart from being directly related to the infection of the skin, pimples are responsible for the loss of collagen.

Collagen is a component of skin that provides elasticity. Each time it is pressed or a pimple breaks, these causing the infection go deeper into the skin, thus causing an increase in the loss of collagen.

This certainly makes acne scars are deeper, so that the skin heals more slowly and face loses elasticity.

 # 1 lemon
The high content of vitamin C in lemons helps rebuild collagen in the skin.

Just squeeze a lemon and apply some juice in the face with a cotton ball. Save juice for later by storing in the refrigerator. In case you need some moisture while applying the juice, you can mix oil with vitamin E.

Lemon mask:

Milk - 1 tablespoon

Almond Oil - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Honey - 1 tablespoon

Lemon juice - 1 tbsp

Method - and mix them gently applied to the skin once a day for a week or 10 days.

Note - After applying lemon juice on the face, do not go into the sun, as this will cause acne scars from turning brown.

# 2 Honey
I bet you had heard of this method to remove acne scars. Honey is the most popular natural treatment for skin problems and acne scars are no different.

You can apply the honey directly on your face and let stand overnight or mix honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and leave for about an hour or leave overnight.

Honey Mask:

Yogurt - 1 tablespoon

Milk - 1 tablespoon

Honey - 2 tablespoons

Method - Put all the ingredients to create a smooth consistency, let stand in refrigerator until mixture is cool, compact and finally water on the face once a day for a week.

# 3. Fenugreek seeds
Take some fenugreek leaves and blend to create a puree. Proceed to apply the mixture to your face or where you're experiencing acne scars. Rinse after 20 or 30 minutes. Repeat this process every day for as long as necessary.

# 4. Tomatoes
They are not only delicious, but also have amazing healing properties.

Tomatoes are loaded with vitamin A which stimulates the renewal of skin cells replacing old acne scars, new ones.

You can crush a tomato and apply the paste on your face, or you can enhance with other vegetables like avocado and cucumber.

You have a thick paste with all ingredients and apply on your face with your fingers. Wash after 20 or 30 minutes.

# 5. Aloe Vera and turmeric
Enzymes, polysaccharides and nutrients are contained in this gift of nature. The aloe vera plant is a must in every home. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, removes toxins and balances the natural moisture levels in the skin.

Aloe vera is one of the few plants that can repair acne scars.

Turmeric, second exfoliates the skin without being aggressive, due to their anti-inflammatory benefits. An unbeatable duo might say.

It combines the two ingredients and cover the skin uniformly massaging gently with your fingers. Leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

I had a combination of shallow and deep acne scars. it really hurt my confidence so i went to find the most affordable solution to end it. i couldn't really afford going to spas for microdemabrasion (and other expensive treatments) so i tried skin rolling or derma rolling. you can use a device called dermaroller. it looks something like this http://www.mtsroller.com/dr-roller/, you roll it on your face so that it breaks the skin and created these tiny tiny wholes. your skin will then produce more collagen to build the damaged skin. i also used scar healing facial masks http://www.mtsroller.com/skinlovers-premium-blanc-recipe-essence-masks-x-5-pcs/ hope you try my method too. it's very rewarding. i can barely see my acne scars now and im back to my old happy confident self!

You may not be able to remove all the scars completely, but you sure can fade and dimish their appearance a lot. Have a look into the scar gel used by Lisa D'Amato - it worked amazingly well.
