In early pregnancy one of the symptoms is heartburn caused through indigestion. I quite often suffer from indigestion anyway because i bolt my food. I seem now though to get heartburn with it - would this be a pregnancy symptom? Also i a few weeks ago i was suffering with cramps and twinges - these have calmed down now but when i eat food i get the odd twinge in my stomach and back - anyone else had this?

I had this for my first pregnancy...my doctor said tums everyday it was good for me and the baby...calcium. I have already had gas pains during my pregnancy so severe I had to leave church, I went home and soaked in hot bath water and then lay on the couch with my legs hanging over the back of the couch and this helped me out a lot.

I'm not sure how far along you are - or if you are even pregnant. But heartburn does ocuur in pregnancy... it can be worse for those who already experience it, and many times doesn't flare up until later in pregnancy when the stomach is being smashed by the growing baby - leaving very little room for the acid to stay in the stomach.

Heart burn in pregnancy is very common. An old wives tale says that if you suffer with heartburn a lot then your baby will be born with a full head of hair, which in my case was so true. I suffered all the way through, in fact i even had heartburn while in labour!! My baby boy had a full head of thick black hair!!

Hi - I am 22 weeks pregnant at the moment and have heartburn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! I am literally living on Rennies! Unfortunately it is a symptom and you will probably have it on and off throughout your pregnancy. As for the cramps, i am getting them quite a lot - spoke to my midwife who assured me that this is round ligature pain from the uterus and pelvis stretching and moving around.

Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK xxxxx

I think not all women who have an early pregnancy have those symptons such as heartburn, indigestion and various aches.
Please you use a paper test of "blue dot" if you want to know yourself whether you are pregnant or not.If it is negative you are not pregnant. I suggest you for consulting your doctor as soon as possible.

With my first child I had heartburn but it was nothing to complain about. Now with my daughter holy cow. I drank a bottle of pepto bismal (even though I wasn't supposed to) because I had all those symptoms. and let me tell you it dosn't stop either. It sounds to me you are pregnant but it could also be something else . Go to your doctor and find out for sure. Good luck

Only the heartburn. With all 3 of my pregnancies, that's how I knew after the first one.

Yes, heartburn is definitely a pregnancy symptom. Mine has usually been the worst during the 1st and 3rd trimester. 1st because of your hormones and 3rd because your stomach is smushed by the belly/baby. Tums (calcium carbonate) is a safe remedy.

I never noticed twinges in my stomach or back...I always had ligament pain in my groin in the first trimester. That felt like twinges and a little bit crampy.
