See, the older I get (37) I've seen him in so many different roles and, basically, he's the same person in all of them. And he just CANT do accents. Especially in Hunt for Red October....... he was a Russian Sub Commander who had a Scottish accent.

can't stand him, he relied solely on his bond image and couldnt go further, the only thing he increased was his rantings about his scottishness (and only from a distance). He was a lousy actor even as Bond. The best was Brosnan.

A good actor but limited range.....

A 5000 yr old Egyptian – Highlander – same accent & facial expressions

A 1920’s Irish Cop – The Untouchables – same accent & facial expressions

A Colonial Hunter late 1800’s – League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - same accent & facial expressions

King John - Robin Hood prince of Thieves - same accent & facial expressions

English Secret Agent – James Bond - same accent & facial expressions

(He was okay as Bond, but Timothy Dalton was the best – HE COULD ACT and was the closest to the original character in the books)

How is he not a good actor?
Did anyone see him in 'The Offense', or 'The Hill', or even 'The Untouchables'? Very versatile.
And the way that he, a high school dropout from a dirt poor, working class family in Edinburgh, was able to redefine the character of James Bond, was a masterstroke of acting.
So what if he can't do an American accent? Robert Redford can't do a British one.

OK people will hate me but NO not a great actor, a fair actor. He has been brilliant in some things but overall he is overrated a bit like Clint Eastwood, they have a ceratin presence and all that but the acting is a bit ropey. Saying all that they have both improved with age.

I used to really like Sean Connery. I always said if I was ever attracted to an older guy it would be him. But, ever since I heard that he thinks it's O.K. to hit women, it's been a huge turn-off. But, I'd still like to see him play Jaga in a live action Thundercats movie. (It's a project I've had to abandon since WB won't let me use the charactors that they have the license for)
