I downloaded a program that was supposed to be a codex to use internet video. I uninstalled it because it wasn't working. The next thing I know, I have a trojan, a worm and malware. My notons was expired so I renewed it. It found and destroyed 7 viruses but my computer still has a trojan. Everytime I log on to the internet via internet explorer, my homepage is automatically changed to some anti spyware site. Norton catches and stops it from changing my homepage 10% if the time. If I use any yahoo page my system runs slowly. I get pop ups for gambling sites and sex sites now. How do I get rid of this madness!!! Please, only real advice and knowledge.

Also, I tried to uninstall my yahoo junk, and my limewire, but they aren't visible on the control panel.

Another thing...... my internet web browser is internet explorer and I use yahoo pop up blocker and it doesn't help. My homepage keeps getting changed to some antispy website and Norton is powerless to help. I just requested a refund from them and need a real anti-spy/anti-virus/anti-malware program. Need help getting this back to normal.

You shouldn't have renewed Norton...it's a bloated piece of crap. Here are some links to free programs to help you out:

Spyware Tools:

Norton has always worked fine for me. As far as spyware, spybot works well if you boot up in safe-mode and run it. It should clean out all spyware. If you still have a trojan, that's a virus and anti-spyware won't work.
Another thing you can try is to do a system restore. Most newer computers comes with this option, and can be found in "System Tools". Then select the option of "Restore my computer to an earlier time." When it gives you the option of times select a time before you tried to download the internet video.

I've had the best luck lately using Ewido Anti-Spyware. This program is free, I like free. They also have a good free Anti-Virus program.
I used to use Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search and destroy, but they were letting too may things get through.

I screwed up my computer recently and I found this site which helped a load...
Try to follow it step by step to be sure it works properly.
Good Luck... I know it sucks.
Oh, and I would stay away from online banking or making any kind of payments or accessing important sites with your password from there until you're absolutely sure everything's off... I've heard some stories of the missing money after these.

By far the best is Webroot SpySweeper. It runs about $15-$30. It is a green box. It has been rated number one for a couple of years now.
