Please, don't ask a bunch of strangers on the Internet. See a doctor and ask the question. We have no idea about the level of your spouse's infestion and what medication s/he takes. Only a doctor can give you the latest professional guidance.
You are asking a bunch of strangers the most serious life-and-death question. Go to a doctor and get a good answer.

You must love your spouse very much to stay with him/her after finding out such devastating news. The risk are something you really should talk to your doctor about. I would think they would be very high still. I mean, it is easier for a woman to catch an std from a man than a man from a woman, but even with a condom, there are other stds usually associated with the hiv virus that are not always visible and can spread even with the use of a condom. God bless your family.

it is safe, and you can have a satisfying sexual life if you use the adequate precautions such as not interchanging fluids, using proper protection, not having sex when sores or cuts of any kind are present, not ingesting fluids, using lubrication so there are no tears, and checking for other potential std's such as herpes, whose open sores are an easy way to transmit the virus.
The fact you are seodiscordants should not be a problem, but it is important that your wife sees a doctor and follow regular check ups to ensure her health
I did my service hours at an HIV clinic and dealt with many wonderful people. The level of ignorance in this country is simply AMAZING, which only contributes to the rise of more STD's and problems. The thing to do should be educate, prevent, and treat, not saying eeeewww, I don't have that, it is unsafe... while you are having unprotected sex with someone you have no clue about it's medical history assuming they are ok..

short answer: it isn't safe--ever really
long answer: never really. the virus itself can be smaller than the pores in condoms, and while they serve as some protection, are not effective long-term over it. It really will never be 'safe' to have sex with your spouse, you will always be at risk for catching it if you engage in sexual contact.
Decide how much sex means to your relationship, and whether you want to take that risk on. Do you want to risk leaving children without both parents later in life?

Go to your doctor or better still the AIDS preventive center in your area for information. He should wear a latex condom, but it's very important about how he removes it after that's why you should get as much information as you can.
You have children who need you so you can't afford to make a mistake. Good Luck to all of you.

I would get tested and for sure I would not risk the children losing both parents. I am sorry for your husband..but use your head on this one...You can 'pleasure' each other with out intercourse...I am not trying to be crude,..but it is just not worth it. I can only pray that you don't have it too...that would be horrible for your kids..they are already going to lose their daddy to a terrible illness...so please, don't have sex and my prayers are with you all.

it is safe to a certain extent as long as you are not transfering body fluids like blood or sperm but it is a hard one like having oral sex if he goes down on you and he has a cut in his mouth that may infect you all i can say is be safe and enjoy ,
also you need to take a test every 6months
