The decision should be based on what helps you as a couple the most. Do either of you have ambitions that can only be satisfied by one geography or the other, is there a particular school you want to go to or social organization you want to be part of that you can't if you move? Do either of you own property in the city you live in or other assets that would be complicated to move? Which of you would face a larger dollar value paycut from moving to a different location. Which city to more of your mutual friends live in? Which city has more of the events or haunts you like the most?

family is very important i live an hour and half drive away from mine and its very hard as i do not get the chance to go see them because of the drive three hours just to travel it is too much on days when you dont feel at your best for what ever reason so my adivce is move to near your family if there is a problem with the property go and sort it that wont happen every day that you have to drive that far and there is lots of good estate agents all over the country offering the service of looking after property on your behalf xXx

The main deciding factor should be living the RIGHT side of the Severn Bridge of course. I'm only guessing, but from your name and the distance of 120 miles, are you in South Wales, and is he somewhere on the M4 corridor? If so, it's easy. Stay in beautiful Wales because commuting via the M4 will be easy-peasy for him.
Of course I may be completely wrong, in which feel free to ignore me!

It depends if the properties need daily looking after and if they do, does he intend to do it himself or hire someone?
As an aside, from what I've aways seen, the man usually moves to where the woman's family is located.

It's give and take...meeting half way!! So why don't you relocate half way between the two places? But then depends on your jobs...and also who has a realistic chance of getting a new position! If it's love...then neither of you would mind where you live as long as you were together!

The idea of compromise is a good one I think. Move half way. (unless you can convince him to see things your way) Plus, what about work location? How would it be easier for both to get to work?

Make a compromise and live between both...that way, it's only 60 miles each way.
