I've used common household bleach. Make a very dilute mixture allow it to stand a bit and then be sure to rinse well with clean warm water to remove and residue then treat with leather oil. This will also rid the bag of any mold and mildew agents.

Try to find a dry cleaning or place that does professional leather cleaning. That may work.

You could try a little Bi Carb of Soda arround a $1.50 at the supermarket make it into a paste with a little water,and use it like you would a cleaning product, Thats what i cleaned mine with and it worked for me. ! Great to have on hand , has lots of uses.
