How would i go about contacting a ghosts or know if they are there?

I Work in a really old pub that used to be a butchers/ slaughter house, there are two cellars that both have ghosts in and the old butcher is said..well prooven to roam the pub, his wife fell down the lager cellar stairs and whenever you go down there its like this horrible feeling you get, a while ago a bloke was attacked down there whilst working and came up with all scraches up his arms?? Can i hire someone to see or can i do it myself somehow?

Listen to auntcookie84. If you have no experience, please do not attempt this on your own. I have dealt with "seeing dead people" all of my life, and I belief that I have been a medium in many other lives as well (yes, I believe in reincarnation). Please don't just hop in without much understanding, I'd worry to see you get hurt. Entities can be quite deceptive and put up a facade that only experienced mediums can see through (if they're lucky).

I am also a medium, but I am not clairvoyant. A clairvoyant sees the future, and what I can do is to give a reading of the past via something called "place memory". It's my belief (as well as a belief shared by many others) that living creatures leave their "marks" so to speak in the places that they inhabit. Mostly, the "marks" left behind are there due to the fact that the entity has some sort of positive or negative attachment to a particular place, and that "mark" can be spontaneously "picked up" and "read" by very sensitive people. I won't get into the whole issue that no attachment is "positive" (I lean toward Buddhist beliefs), but for the meantime, I'll just say that not every entity has it out for the current occupants of a certain place.

It's very possible that this entity is utterly frightened and lonely and "wounded" on a number of levels. It is confused and needs help, but it most likely does not know exactly what it needs and/or how to get it. It may see the current occupants through a lense of jealousy; it may be intensely jealous of (and therefore lash out at) the current occupants, because the entity is "stuck" in that place and it sees that the current occupants can just get up and leave any time they want. The entities don't realize that they are only bound by their own beliefs, and that a higher spiritual force will gladly take them on and rehabilitate them, if given the chance. But most entities (and most PEOPLE, for that matter) won't let you in to help them, so it's a vicious circle of anger, hurt, desperation and confusion (in Buddhism, this is samsara).

I am not a "professional", but I do not believe in such distinctions. My gifts are on loan from a higher spiritual source and I abhor the idea that just because someone has a business card that it might be assumed that they are somehow more trustworthy.

Be careful who you invite to help you out with this; if they are a phony, they could cause an astronomical amount of damage to the already precarious situation. You need someone who has compassion (but who is detached- in Buddhism, this is called "loving kindness"), because the entities are trapped on something called the "astral plane" (some people and books will tell you that the worst entities are on "lower planes" but this has not been my experience), and all "astral" means is "emotion". You need someone who has the ability to impart compassion while still remaining detached.

The last thing you need is someone going in there with an ego (i.e. "yeah, I've blasted 4 ghosts this week!") or an agenda (i.e. "SURE, I can help you!!!"-- before they even see the place). What you want is an honest person who explains their extent of experience who then says, "I can't guarantee that I will be able to help, because each case is different, but I'll try. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to connect with your entity."). Because NO medium can connect 100% of the time- more like 50% if they're lucky! And to those meduims out there who balk, you must also be able to walk on water, too! You're only human, for crying out loud!

One more note, something I've noticed over the years is: the "scarier" the entity or experience, the more desperately the entity is crying out for help, whether it knows it or not.

You would find a reputable medium in your area to go in and do some "ghost busting" for you...I wouldn't attempt to do it alone, especially if you've never dealt with spirits before (other than what's served at the bar! heheh). Since they aren't listed in the yellow pages, you'll have to locate them through any metaphysical bookstore...they usually have names of mediums there. Or you could contact the show Ghost Hunters...they may want to do a remote from the pub. It sounds like you have an "earth bound" or "low level" spirit in that cellar and I do not recommed an untrained person to make contact with it. It is getting physical...you need a professional "ghostbuster". Best of luck to you.

In my opinion, there are no ghosts, however, there are demons who roam the earth. You are dealing spiritual forces of darkness that are not to be taken lightly. It sounds like your friend was attacked by those demons, only a Christian who is confident in his faith should even think of a confrontation and it must be something God wants him to perform.(Ephesians 6:10-18) I have had an experience witha demonically possessed person about 26 years ago, it was an experience I will never forget; a direct encounter with spiritual forces of the devil.

after consulting my good friend and fellow ghost hunter, alredo von trappio de la canning, we have cpme to the conclusion that the bast way to get rid of a ghost is to moonwalk whilst holding a bag of prawn crackers

well if you are foolish enough to buy into anything check out the life of Houdini he exposed every psychic alive and disproved the notion of life after death as well
