I have tried using natural deodorants and those that don't contain anti-perspirants...but they don't work at all.

I use Ban at the moment but I'm not sure it's strong enough either. Secret is equally wimpy. Degree is what I have found to be the best for me. I konw it is not ideal to use an aluminum containing deodorant, but I don't want to worry about stinking after 2 hours. And reapplying throughout the day doesn't work either.

My diet is fine, certainly much better than my husband's. I don't eat a lot of sugar or processed foods. But I have noticed that men in general can get away with using deodorant over antiperspirants much more than women, so I am trying find out what it is about women to make us stronger than men in this area.

You are a woman. Women, because of our hormonal systems being more delicate to balance than a man can have problems of greater intensity.

Your problem may be due to a candida (yeast) syndrome. My sister (who is hypoglycemic) has to take very special precautions. She has not gotten a diagnosis of yeast - but I think that may be the cause of some of her skin problems - itchys.

If you are hypoglycemic or diabetic, or have some other high insulin, pre-diabetic syndrome, then you (like me) are prone to yeast infestation.

For basic information on the systemic yeast syndrome, check out the link on the Welcome page of www.hufa.org.

Body odor is caused by many things: diet, general health, frequency of bathing, types of soaps used, deodorants used ...
So there a lot of variables. Assuming that you have good health (a visits to the Dr to assess this is a good idea), I would look at diet. Usually strongly flavored dishes and spices will give the body stronger odors. Our skin is a very large excretory organ via the sweat glands. It might be worthwhile to consider a more bland diet for a while to see if that helps. If you don't want to change your eating habits, make sure to bathe regularly with a mild non-perfumed soap. As far as deodorants go, the best I have found is ... Phillips Milk of Magnesia. I use the original formula, so there is no minty or cherry odor, and dab a bit under my arms with a piece of cotton. This is not an antiperspirant, so, there won't be any clogged glands to worry about. There is no Aluminum to worry about causing breast cancer either. My wife was using this when I met her. She got me using it and I have had no problem with body odor since using this, about three years now. I know it sounds weird, but it works for us. Give it a try. Good Luck!

You need to smell like a rose garden at all times and unless you want some of that Old Spice deodorant, you're in a pickle

Check what you are eating. Try a natural health store brand of deodorant. Wash your armpits, etc. often at work. And are your clothes natural cotton or non-breathing synthetics?

well, its all about hormones. You probably have more hormones secreted in that area. Search for a stronger deodorant, or go to a dermantologist.

Does he shower often? (I know it's a silly question)

Talk to the doctor about it. You can get Rx for deodorant.
