What are your thoughts on it? I listen to quite a lot of metal/heavy metal/rock etc music and I like to think of myself as a gentle person and certainly not a devil worshiper.

Your thoughts please.... :-)

Metal is as much the devil's music as Guy Lombardo is.

One focal point of metal has always been rebellion, be it from parents or the "system" to organized religion. Just because someone sings about Satan does not guarantee that the person is into the devil or is a Satanist. Much of it is simply an act.

I'm not slamming metal by any means; I've listened to heavy metal for over 20 years and still love it. But anyone who would be "called to the dark side" by heavy metal would probably been lured over by the dial tone on their phone as well.

Music is music, and everyone should just take it for what it is - artistic expression, even if the decibel level is higher in metal.

No, a number of that's in simple terms simple noise. not all concepts you. i love a number of it. I hate rap, yet i'd not call that the devil's music both. He has too a lot experience to take heed to that c-ap. Who needs to take heed to a collection of human beings you may not frequently comprehend confer with music. Now that takes quite some tangible expertise. And the content fabric of it, disgusting, and they enable their little toddlers pay interest to it. No ask your self some human beings finally end up psychotic.

Metal is not the devil's music. Devil's music is the one that has backmasked messages in it or talks about you-know-who. Even Britney Spears gave a little confession to one of her songs.

I don't think 'Satan' owns any music..and if he did..I doubt he would endorse any specific type. Metal in general likes to use dark or nihilistic lyric content mainly for the reaction/response that listeners give it. Shocking listeners used to be an effective tool for challenging established world views or preferences...but unfortunately these soon become stereotypes in our post-modern culture. I find most manufactured pop music more 'satanic' than metal/rock forms as it is more subtle in it's subversity!!

I think it is. I have researched this a little, but in listening to "metal" music it seems evil to me. Anything that takes our mind away from a personal walk with Jesus can be used by the devil to keep us from following Jesus. Some things that distract us are more damaging than others. I think 'metal' music is quite damaging. Think about what attracts you to listen to it. Would you feel comfortable listening to it with Jesus standing next to you.

I don't think that the devil listens to music. I do think that it's called the devils music because its loud and unpleasant, at least for me.
