go for it. i had one removed for health reasons, but i didn't get it laser removed because you need to do it with a knife for this kind. I have an ugly scar instead of a mole now. I dunno which is preferred. I think though that with laser removal it should be much cleaner and nicer. and if it is on your face and making you really uncomfortable than sure go for it. naturally only if your parents think its ok and take you to get it done.

No side effect at all if u go to a good dermie. Mine did a superb job - totally without scarring n removed 2 moles below my eye. It healed within 4 months n he did the stitching perfectly ! He did not feel laser was good enough

well, Laser isn't the only way to have it removed, they could alwas go in with a knife...

The only real down sides I see to having something like this removed would be healing time (which, with the laster, will be much faster then cutting it out), where you'll probably have a bandage on it for a bit. Also, you might have a little scar, but if that happens it wouldn't be much...

Just my thoughts...

No, the laser isn't the only way, but it's probably the best way. I had one removed off my cheek by having it frozen. Even the slightest movement of AIR around that spot hurt! For WEEKS! Now the brown color is gone, but there is still a raised, slightly red area. I had this done 5 years ago.

no, but there is the possibility of a bad scar called a keloid forming. i had 2 moles removed and developed keloids when they healed... but other than that, nothing bad can happen. and keloids don't happen on everybody. it's got a lot to do with how well your body heals and genetics.

i found out that if they use a "cookie cutter knife" which is a round blade the size of your mole, they can go in too deep and remove more tissue then needed and then once its healed it can "cave in" a little, making the scare more noticable...go to a family doctor that has a D.M. licence...which means they can do minor surgeries in office and they will most likely use a regular knife than a round one.

Lazer or freeze it. I think the only side effect will be some kind of scar. Worst case would be a keloid scar. http://www.webmd.com/search/search_results/default.aspx?sourceType=all&query=keloid%20scar

well some asians believe moles posses speical powers, i believe theres one friends episode where they use this idea with chandlers "funnyness".
But i say get it removed if it is making you unconfident, its not a big deal.
