Nothing, just have a bit of Patience.
The Hospital or her Midwife will be watching to see that everything is going well.

They will put her on a Monitor if she goes to long after her Delivery Date, they will know if the Baby is Distressed, and if that happens they will induce her or even take her into Hospital for a Section,[Cesarean].

Can I assume this is your First Baby ??

Good Luck and hope your Wife is OK

Lets know what she has,if she hasn't already gone into Labour.

Labor can be induced:
1) Naturally, it's time!
2) Chemically, medicines exist that can help the womb go into labor, but this is not recommended outside the care of a physician-obstetrician.
3) Stress, let her have a walk!
4) Massage on the tummy.
5) Ruptured bag of water, dangerous to induce without a trained health worker, like a midwife or doctor.
6) Sex, by inducing 4 and 5 above.

I agree, having sex with your wife if her waters have not broken is one way. There are some other more sensible ones here... http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/labourandbirth/labour/bringonlabournaturallyexpert/?_requestid=2946892

I would not recommend a really hot curry unless your wife is used to them and has eaten them during her pregnancy without any problem.

At the end of the day babies will come when they're ready, and the Doctors dates and your dates are not generally the baby's dates!

Good luck!

I know one method that a friend tried and it worked. She went for a hot curry and then drove over the cobbles in Edinburgh and her contractions started. Midwifes always recommend having sex, but I know when I was overdue the last thing I wanted to have was sex. I think really if the baby wants to come it will, if it wants to stay in there, there's nothing you can do except be induced, thats what happened to me. The midwife's can also to an internal membrane sweep, it's very uncomfortable but it does work.

Jumping Jacks!!!!!!!!!!. No more than 5 or 6. I did it just to joke around and I went into labor. Get her up and have her walk and not a little, have her walk alot. Those are the 2 best , plus all the walking will help ease the pain during labor and helps your labor to go faster. My daughter was 3 weeks over due and she was fine. Good Luck

I know this is just like the other answers, but SEX really is the best and most fun thing to do. The best position is from behind, that way, you won't hurt the baby at all. Lay down, on your side and go in from behind - This is highly recommended by both Old Wives' Tales and Medical Practicioners - give it a try!

Old wives tales suggest the following may help get things moving..
Drinking raspberry leaf tea
Eating curry
Lots of Walking
Sex (like anyone 9months preg will feel like it!!)
Unfortunately none of the above worked for me and I was induced @2wks overdue - but I guess it can be fun to try!

Believe it or not but sex and/or a good curry are believed to work.
There are plenty of other suggestions but you would need to check with your healthcare provider if it is a good idea to bring on labour in the first place. The due date is caluclated from a formula, we are all individuals.
