Not necessarily. "The Pill" is generally a combination of hormones that are very similar in structure to the ones produced during pregnancy. It's why you don't get pregnant. You don't ovulate because your body already thinks you ARE pregnant.
It's important to go off the pill as soon as you know you are actually pregnant. I'd have to assume that you missed a pill or two... just long enough to ovulate...
Speak with your physician. During the pregnancy they can do bloodwork and ultrasounds to keep track of the baby's health and to calm any fears you might have about the medication having damaged the baby. Keep in mind... that if the pregnancy was stable enough to maintain during those early weeks.... chances are you're carrying a healthy baby.

The leaflet I got with my pills said to stop taking them as soon as you find out you are pregnant for sure. However, they say that at the moment there are no known risks from taking the pill whilst pregnant, but this is only because they can't study what would happen if someone did carry on with the pill because it's unethical!

Well if you suspect you are pregnant then i would stop taking them ASAP. They can harm the baby but many women do get pregnant on the pill and the baby is perfectly healthy. But yes it can harm the baby if you keep taking it long after you become pregnant.

Not sure what the pill would do if you continued to take it during pregnancy, but common sense would say that it couldn't be good for the baby. If you think you are pregnant, get off the pill & see your doctor.

If you are on the pill, you are not supposed to be pregnant (unless you skip your pills). Doctors usually say that if something harms the baby at early stages, then the fetus is aborted.
However, if you want to be on the safe side, ask your docot. He will tell you what to do.

I am not aware of any instances in which a woman's baby was harmed for this reason. I think a doctor would give you a better answer though.

I don't know... and neither will the people on here unless they are doctors. Seriously, speak to your doctor or the NHS Direct and they will be able to provide you with proper advice.
Speaking to a bunch of muppets on here, could harm your unborn baby if you are pregnant, so get medical assistance straight away.
My sister-in-law conceived twice while being on the Pill, so no contraception is foolproof.

From what I understand, it doesn't harm the baby. I have heard of babies being born with slightly enlarged breasts and milk coming from them and if its a girl sometimes they have a vaginal bleed. But these cases are very rare. If in doubt though ask a doctor, I'm sure they would be happy to put your mind at rest.

They advise that you DO stop it but I don't think it will do much harm for a month or so, my friend was unaware and taking it for few months & her baby is fine.
Just go to your doctors and tell him/her your concerned.
If you are pregnant he will advise you to come off it and if not, you can carry on as normal.
Good luck.

My 2 friends got pregnant on the pill. You should stop taking immediately because could potentially have negative effects on it!
