OK, I'm English I've always lived here I just need to move closer to my in-laws. This means I need to research the area/find a job etc.

There must be people in the industry who know the best way to research it?

You don't say if you are buying or renting. If you are renting from a social landlord, you can swop using MOVE UK. Find jobs by searching in the Job Centre on those touch screens. Better still go to local library and use Yellow Pages.Moving nearer to your Mother in Law............

Try looking at websites like

http://www.upmystreet.com/

which will give you details about the area of the UK you intend to move to.

This will give you a wide range of information from transport to leisure.

Make sure you find yourself somewhere to live before you get here. Housing is in very short supply; especially in the South of England - as this is where a lot of jobs are.

Dont waste your time coming to Britain. We are over run with immigrants. The government are a waste of space and the country is not far off the verge of a civil war between muslims, eastern europeans and white British folk. Do yourself a favour and stay put!

This depends on what your difficulties are (lots of stuff to shift? short-term long-term UK location??, rent or buy?), what you need in place by way of accommodation (if you have family/pets etc) & what your budget is. Just give us a few more clues please!

Tell 'em you're an immigrant, they'll have you settled down in no time.
