Ben Thatcher was last night fined 6 weeks wages and banned for 6 games by Man city. Is this punishment harsh enough or should he face further punishment from the F.A?

It is not the first time he has committed an offence like this and the punishment is not strong enough. If you ask me Man City are playing games by trying to pre-empt what the FA will do in the hope that nothing further will happen. The FA need to show them and him who is Boss and step in and ban him for the rest of the season. Man City should either cancel his contract or put him on the transfer list.

Man City have fined him 6 weeks wages & banned him for 6 games (2 suspended). This is an internal disiplinary action by the club & will be additional to what ever fines/bans the FA impose.

Ben Thatcher of Manchester City should be banned for at least the whole season for his tackle on Pedro Mendes of Portsmouth. he has a bad disciplinary record in the Premiership.

Paolo Di Canio got banned for 10 games just for pushing a weedy ref over!

it should have been a 6 month ban and fined 6 months wages.

he fine would probably still be more than most of us earn in a life time.

In my opinion, the Man City punishment should be irrelevant to any censure made by the FA.

He's a thug and football wont miss players like him!!

Why should my (or anybody else's) season ticket money go towards paying for his expensive arrogant life!!

Lets stamp players like Thatcher out!

He got off lightly to me, should have been banned for longer like 12 games or more

I think he should count himself lucky. Duncan Ferguson did a stretch inside for headbutting Paul Mcstay whilst playing for Rangers!

Should be banned from playing football ever again. Lets face it, its not the first time he has done something like that!
