I use a stand alone computer (it is not networked). I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 to send and receive e-mails. I think someone else has used it and sent some e-mails, and have deleted them from the sent box and deleted box. I do not have the option of "Recover Deleted Items" and was wondering if there is a way to check if they have been sent. If so, how would I go about looking at them?

He only has a really old computer, and mine is a spanking new one with broadband internet and the only e-mail account here in the office!!! So I am presuming if he had used the e-mail, he may have done so to contact head office to tell them how great I am!! (I wish)

They are not in the outbox, or the temp file in Windows. There must be some record of them somewhere on this blasted box!

I think you've had it! No way to recover the emails. But if you can get a manual on how to use debug - you go to accessories and then the command prompt and type c\ then debug. That gives you access to all your hard disk. But you'll need the list of commands. You could try Googling debug. But a lot of trouble to go to! Hard drives tend to be big these days. I found it hard to find stuff using debug when hard drives were in Mb - now you're talking Gb! There are other programs that do a similar thing - again you need to be desperate for the data - and that's what it is data - you need to know what you're looking for to interpret it in to actual information.

try with your search button, it might still be in there also a couple of free software programs "get data back" "recover lost email" which you can download on www.majorgeeks ,com. In the future try a stealth key logger on your PC, also free to download, and no matter what they delete, everything which is typed is stored.

You would have to ask your I T expert - I am sure there is a way to recover these if they exist.

But why would your boss use your computer to do this?

Go to the top toolbar where it says view. Go to folders. Open it and it will say messages sent. If not there you have to be patient, the messages are long gone.
