Yes, but that's a good thing. Stupid people are easily led, manipulated and used. Rather than being bitter about the idiocy of your peers, thank God for the stupid people, because without them, none of the rest of us could succeed.
In the words of Huck Finn, "H'aint we got all the fools in town on our side? And h'aint that a big enough majority in any town?"

So true. & not to diss on my own culture (je suis americaine, babyy!), but there are so many jokes about how little Americans truly know. Like how most Americans, over half of the population, cannot locate Afghanistan or Iraq on the globe/map. Most people are stupid just because people are generally lazy. They generally take shortcuts and do the least possible to survive. So they don't feel compelled to get rid of their stupidity.
I think it's mostly a result of apathy. People typically don't care if they're stupid anymore like the used to. Like, you ask, "Who was the activist who started the Civil Rights Movement?" and they go "I don't know, why should I care?" Many just believe that because the US is so powerful, we don't need to learn about foreign affairs... but we do. Ah, but maybe I'm just referring to the adolescent teens of today.
Those teens who are apathetic of the world, though, grow up and mature to become the adults who are apathetic, and therefore, not enlightened.
So, in short, yes. most people are. I might be, I cannot judge myself objectively. But hopefully, I'm not one of the many.

depends on what you see as stupid i suppose, your idea of stupid may not mean that that persons stupid but they may excel in different things than maybe you for instance.
some people are artistic and other people are facts and figures peoples. so a hair dresser may think that a scientist is stupid because they can't cut/style hair yet a scientist may think that a hair dressers stupid coz she doesn't know about the molecular structure or chemical compound.
so really who can decide or judge. no-one.

Yeah, I'd say compared to me most people are .... but then if you were at the bottom of the rung, and quite dim, you'd probably have a different view, and think most people in the world are really smart!
