How in the world did the best team in baseball beat them?
How could THOSE Tigers come form behind and beat the Mighty Mighty yankees? Are they done? Is the yankee season over???

Yankees suck and so do their fans.What a whiny bunch of babies, boo hoo.I will be pretty blunt, the red sox obviously are not going to the playoffs, but god helps us all, please, please I don't care what team you are, kick them Yankees *** in the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!That team , their players, owners and their fans do not deserve it at all!!!!i hate them bastards, and to all the people that will criticize me because the red sox are not playing well and that why im bashing the yankees its not cause of that reason.i just plain and simple hate and despise that team.

With a 2-4 record against the Yankees you still shoot your mouth off. If I were you I would worry about your division. If we spank you today your lead in the Central could dwindle to 3.5 games. Last I checked the Yankees had a 8 game lead over Boston. They're also not far from best record in the AL and home field throughout. Remember that game was just a battle not the war.

They hit a home run off Scott Procotr -- the guy who has the most appearances in the league.
Had this been one game instead of a DH, Rivera's on the mound and Detroit doesn't get a baserunner.
The only two wins Detroit has over NY have come in the ninth inning off a pitcher not name Mariano.

The Yankees did not lose to the best team in Baseball, cause if they did, that would mean they lost to themselves. The yankees are the best team in baseball, what other team can boost the record that the yankees have with all the injuries they have had this season. What injuries have thetigers had this season.

Georgie, even you know this is a dumb question. The lead over Boston is 8 GAMES!!!! It doesn't matter if we win or lose a few games here and there because Botson will NEVER EVER catch up. And some guy above me said it right, if Mariano is in, game over cuz he doesn't walk guys and he certainly doesn't leave the ball right over the middle of the plate.
I would be scared of the ChiSox right now, you might no win the division.

What happened? I should be asking you that? They split the double header plus were 4-2 against you this year. So I will ask you: What happened? By the way after looking at the Tigers again they really aren't going anywhere with that lineup! Plus they cant play well against the good times only the under 500 teams, lol.

Wow, Scott Proctor blows yet another save when both Mariano Rivera AND Kyle Farnsworth couldn't pitch. That's such an accomplishment.

Please!!! Boston is history and the Yankees are more concerned with keeping everyone healthy and preparing for the playoffs. Big deal, so the Tigers got one. It doesn't mean a thing unless it happens in the playoffs. You Tiger fans remember the playoffs don't you? Oh that's right, it's been how many years since a championship?????????

I sure hope so.
What I do know is, my Metropolitans pounded the crap out of the Rockies again, David Wright had a grand slam and 5 RBI's, Delgado added another HR!!
But yeah, seriously, lets go Tigers, I was watching the Yanks/Tigers game when Monroe hit that HR.....GOOOO TIGERS!!

are you really askign if the yankees season is over? It is one game and they have an 8 game lead in the division...and its safe to say that they will be in the playoffs especially with Boston just being absolutely terrible right now.

I don't expect the Yankees to win every game.. there will be good games and bad games.... The NYY record speakes for itself. No other team are close to their achievements. THEY ARE the best team in MLB history
