Ive become interested in andy kaufman and wondered if he was dead or if there has been a movie created on him. If you have any more important info i would like to know that too.

Yes, he is dead. There have been numerous rumors throughout the years saying he isn't though. Man in the Moon is the movie Jim Carrey starred in about Kaufman. Supposedly, he refused the normal treatment for his lung cancer, and instead went to some weird doctor. And some people claimed that the doc cured him and all that jazz. But his denying the normal treatment did what you think it would, it killed him. In truth, he hid the fact that he even had cancer from the public. He died in 1984. Yes he's been dead for years. There was a REM song called "Man in the Moon" and a Jim Carrey movie on Andy Kaufman a decade ago on him. The name of the movie is "Man on the Moon", 1999.
