There are many different ways you can send a letter with the United States Postal Service. For a comphrensive list of methods, prices, and delivery times, visit their website and under "calculate postage" enter the appropriate information:

I run a mail order business, so I can give you my best estimate. First class postage (standard) is 37 cents, and would probably take 2-3 days to reach Utah from Texas (although the disclaimer is to allow 4-7 days). Priority mail will cost you about $4 and it is guaranteed to reach the destination in 2-3 days. Express mail is about $14, and it is guaranteed to reach the destination the very next day.

Have you never heard about the poney express.? But seriously try overnight service, say from greyhound bus depot, or federal express.
