Use a proxy server, and don't let your info go through the IT's Firewalls. To change the proxy server on your machine, go to Internet Explorer. Then Click Tools-->Internet Options, then click Connections Tab, then LAN Settings the box "USE a proxy server for your LAN should be checked. Then click advanced and delete anything in the boxes. Then get a Proxy IP from any website that has them, (proxy-list.biz) and enter the IP in http: then enter the port number (the numbers after the colon)

There You GO!

well...nothing you can do ..if the admin did his job ! the solution to use a proxy will work only if the admin didn't setup the firewall properly. At the end you have to understand something ...if the company policy state very clear that you can't use the Internet for your personal "browsing" you must comply. If you don't comply you ca loose your job ... If the IT man is NOT allow to watch you then you can complain. I think the USA Supreme Court rule that you can check your personal e-mails without getting fired...but don't count on this ...

The onboard LAN is a under pressure out Ethernet port. If it does not say it comes with WiFi, you could the two get a USB WiFi adapter (that is going outdoors the computing gadget) or a PCI WiFi adapter (that is going interior). They fee approximately $15.

what makes you so special that you feel YOU should have the right to use THEIR internet connection and THEIR equipment as YOU feel fit, disregarding your companies policies which are there to stop IDIOTS LIKE YOU getting them into sticky legal problems.

and i'm stating the obvious - but your'e at work to work.

grow up and get a computer at home then you can visit any site you want.

Yes, you can be monitored at work. No, you have no right of privacy if you're using the company's equipment.

If you attempted to circumvent their monitoring policy, you'd probably be fired.

Oddly enough, I'd suggest that you actually work while you're at work.

these IT guys are a LOT smarter than you and unbelieveably more savvy with computers than you'll ever be. anything you think of, they will already have thought of and countered. it's best for you to just do your work, which is what you're paid for. you're not paid to surf the web.

No real way to do so because they basically are the GOD of your network, and unless you are also an ADMINISTRATOR you don't have God privileges and can't shut them out or hide from them.

Sorry I know this is not what you want to hear... :-(

access the server and do something smart on it like playing with log files and then enjoy surfing

You can not fool the administrator , he is in-charge of the network.
