Freemasonry is an ANCIENT organization that can trace its beginnings to the construction of King Solomon's Temple.
It is NOT a subversive organization of kooks with a political agenda, as some conspiracy theorists would have you believe.

It IS necessarily secretive, but the result of this secrecy is a plethora of civic and social charity that is performed anonymously througout the world.

To become a Freemason, one simply has to ask another mason.
NOBODY is ever ASKED to join. The applicant MUST make the first move.

There are 'requirements'...You must profess a belief in SOME God, and you must not have an 'immoral' reputation.

The ' Blue Lodge' offers 32 degrees of progress. The first 3 degrees are REQUIRED. All others are optional, but HIGHLY encouraged. In USA you may choose from two routes to pass thru the degrees, Scottish and York. The end result is still the same, culminating in the 32nd degree.

Shriners, the guys in fezs driving the motorcycles and funny little cars in parades, are men who have completed their 32nd degree in the Blue Lodge and have elected to continue their service to humanity thru the Shrine.

It is a Good organization of true and stable men.

Well lets see if I can shed some light on this without all the ridiculous claims. First Freemasons are a fraternity "men only" There is also a female version called the Eastern Star. They have three appendent bodies the York Rite Scottish Rite and Shriners. (every one loves the Shriners all Shriners are Masons) Masons raise money for charity providing millions of dollars a day to various charities and it costs about 8 million a day to run a Shriners hospital where a child is treated at no charge. As previously said a society of secrets rather than a secret society all our rituals are plastered all over the Internet. But our grips, keys, and tokens are kept as secret as possible in the information age. I challange any one of these people that have made these incredable claims about the Masons to do as much charity work as a Mason does.

Society of the Masons also known as the Freemasonry society is a fraternal organization whose membership is held together by shared moral and metaphysical ideals and—in most of its branches—by a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.
It is also a "fraternity," - an organization that represents the relationship between its members as akin to brotherhood.

Benjamin Franklyn, George Washington were members as well as many other political figures that believed in running this country under strict and secret conditions according to their belief, so that those ways would never change. Democracy is just a front and still is to this day...

Grown men wearing aprons rolling their trouser legs up and bearing their nipples...what's not to like? These guys sound like fun and not all sinister, nor do they do anything which might be seen as immoral or underhand just to help a mate out who has broken the law...no siree, they certainly don't do that..nope...no way jose..etc
