It's part of the inherent sexism imposed by censorship of the televisual medium. Personally, I think we probably only see men's butts a little bit more often than women's, but your point stands. I think it's because men's rears aren't SEXY and FRUITY and LIFE-GIVING in the way that women's are. They're just BLOCKY and FUNCTIONAL. There's a double standard - another example is male v. female nudity in the context of humour. Naked men, usually funny. Naked women, usually sexy. (Although Teri Hatcher getting locked out of her house naked in Desperate Housewives was a good exception).

Because a tv is not a woman. They're men who take female estrogen hormone shots to look more feminine.

It's all to do with censorship guidelines. I think they can show a penis as long as it's not erect!

Errrrmmm... dunno where you;re living, but in the UK it's not uncommon to see the backsides of both genders on the screen...
