There are freemasons in Britain, as in most countries. I think 'riddled with' would be an overstatement, though.

The UK and the USA are "riddled" with Freemasonry, but like a previous answer states, there are not so many members as there once were. The Duke of York is the Worshipful Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England. It is not some evil secret society to rule the world. Each Grand Lodge of each country and state or province is completely independent of every other other Grand Lodge. There is NO supreme international organization. That being the case, if it were bent on taking over the world it is the most poorly organized world domination society ever conceived. LMAO LMAO LMAO. Freemasonry is a fraternal organization to make good men better. It is not a religion or political society. Indeed, religion and politics are FORBIDDEN topics in Lodge meetings and social functions. And their roll books are not secret. The only true secrets in Freemasonry are the signs of recognition. Everything else is posted on the internet :p

wasn't the whole funding father cabinet of the Continental Congress freemasons?

I would think if the UK is riddled so is America and any other nation that supports an engineering philosophy that makes people respond to other people in a wide variety of assets.

hmmm lets see, there are 2 branches of freemasonry in the whole world. scottish (scotland on the british isles) and YORK (from the city York in britian itself.) so my guess is yeah there would be a few there since apparently it started there after the templar knights were in hiding for 300 years

see taivo's answer and believe. i, also am a Master Mason and 4 times Past Master and a life member of this Fraternity. The Masonic Fraternity believes in the Fatherhood of GOD and the Brotherhood of Man. the tenets of the Fraternity are " BROTHERLY LOVE, RELIEF AND TRUTH. We also belive that through our discussions we can help each of us become better men. we do NOT go to lodge to worship THE HIGHER POWER because this is done in one's designated PLACE OF WORSHIP. We go to our lodges to reinforce the teachings received in the PLACE OF WORSHIP. yes, we are a world wide Fraternity and there are very few places in the world where there is not a Masonic Lodge.

You have no real knowledge of Freemasonry. And to answer your question would only leave you more confused.

My grandfather was one, and always said its not a secret society, its a society of secrets.

Besides I used to help him at Christmas time with some of the charity boxes they used to give out.
