I don't know. I would say, firstly, u need a love of films.
Why not try writing a script for one. Something u enjoy. And then film it. Bryan Singer said that when starting out and u have no money use friends and family to help in ur film. U can also use the drama classes at ur school.
28 Days Later was film with nothing more than a hand held digital camcorder. Phone Booth was film in 11 days. In my opinion all u need is imagination and u can do anything.
If what I say helps, get in touch. I'm a writer (novellas, I will admit) and would be willing to help u come up with a story.
Good Luck

Hey, you need a love...a LOVE of films to do it, and not just watching but creating, all aspects really. Then you need to make a film. Don't wait for funding, don't wait for a great great idea, don't wait for the right time, just do it. It will probably not be good, so you do it again. Then again, then again, then again, and keep going. If you enjoy it then you will be happy doing this. As you keep going new ideas will keep coming, you will get more creative and the films will get better. Then film school, or the 5th film you make will gets shown and someone will see it and get you to make a full length one, of maybe with the first film you make. Just don't aim for being a high profile Hollywood director, aim to make great, inspiring, worthwhile, original films.
Buena suerte.

I've no idea, but good for you for having an ambition and starting to do something about it early on. With that goal in mind you can target your education at the qualifications that will help you get there.
I know you can do college courses in film-making but that would be some years off for you: have you thought about contacting your local adult learning authority to find out if there are any evening classes in related subjects? I think technically you'd be too young to apply but they might have some ideas or refer you to a local group that would be useful.
Here's another thought - join your local theatre group so you get an all-round idea of how theatrical productions are put together as it's not dissimilar to film in some ways. Then you could maybe have a go at directing some plays, which is experience that would stand you in good stead until you can get to college and study film.

ok well everyone's being mean to you and that's horrible.
you need to start by choosing the right options in year 9, so if u have media studies at your school you need to do that, and drama is very important. then find yourself a work placement for work experience - write to a television studio or theatre or something.
i'm 15 and starting my drama gcse course in september, i'd quite like to direct but i'd rather act.

I guess you may consider to take filming in college, or you can participating in theatre/play making process in community groups or interest group, just to have an idea on film making. I think some filming groups or organizations can also give you some ideas.

Write to places like Pinewood Studios etc, and see if they have any summer internships. It will get you in the door, let you see and learn the industry, and give you direct access to people who will be able to give you REAL advice

You need to be fat, old and Jewish.
I'm just saying the stereotype people have of American directors.
