We do have Arabs, and Asians here as well, we can use their names. Not just English, and Spanish. We even used Black names, but rarely such as Katrina, or Latasha.

dude...by the way...

Katrina is NOT a black name! I think it's actually an East European-Russian-ish name. I'll have to check on it...but its early and i dont feel like it.

Do you really want a hurricane named Xiao Xing? Come on...No offense to any asians or arabs, but you want a hurricane named Abdul Qu'ader?

Honestly, lets keep things accessible to the general public, don't you think?

Usually, hurricane names can be read by any and everybody who can READ. The names are easy to pronounce.

Think about the ppl when they hear the news like this "1200 ppl died and 55000 ppl left their houses by the hurricane Hussein". The life would be harder for Husseins. To continue with Katrina, Latasha, etc. is better.

Why can't we use Afrikaans names? I would just LOVE to see a hurricane named: Ossewania for a change come on people... let's not name hurricanes after your wives - sure, they suck all the life from you and destroy everything that is precious to you... um I've kind of lost the plot here...
