On the west coast they use shiny things to keep all pests way. Being in the midwest, I have taken that idea & I have dangled some mirrors on a string and periodically the sun hits them and spooks without notice. I would try anything reflective for the best result. Pie tins, mirrors, silver garland(from xmas) or silver ribbon, for some ideas.
