The original bluesmobile Is a "1974 plymouth fury", with a 440 motor. The old "Mt. prospect" police car. It had a cop motor, cop tires, cop shocks. It was made the year before the catalytic converter, so it'll run good on regular gas. So what do ya say, is it the new bluesmobile or what?
The newer bluesmobile, was a "1990 ford crown victoria". Most likely, with the most respectable 5.0 litre motor, with the "police interceptor" package.

Ex police car, obviously some american make.... I'm a girlie, this is too hard, we just like cars that look good, especially when driven by cool guys like the Blues Brothers.... one of the funniest scenes in movie history is the band singing Raw Hide in the country and western club.... Have seen tribute band at windsor, absolutely fantastic, missed their last visit recently, but hope they will be back soon. This film defines cult movies!

That was a mid-seventies Crown Victoria with police pursuit package (according to Elwood, anyway).
