I'm a computer science engineering student. I was thinking about attempting GRE to take admission in some US university for an MS degree. We have on-campus placements from December 1, and I expect to get into some decent software firm like Microsoft, Google or NVidia. I've registered 26 September as a date for my GRE exam, but I'm not prepared yet. Should I postpone it to next year, say June 2007 and get a job instead? Or should I just blindly try GRE once?
Finally I want to become an enterpreneur, so a job or GRE, I guess wont matter much.

Err... people seem to get it wrong. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A JOB. I want to decide BETWEEN a job and higher studies. Now, maybe you can answer correctly. Anyways, I'll just take your suggestions. For the actual decision, I'll always consider what parents, friends, girlfriend say. So please pour in your ideas.

You have worked hard to get this far. Create a chart listing the Pros and Cons of each option; this can help you with your decision making process. Get a job and your MS degree as well. Reasons for doing this:
1.An MS degree can increase your entry level pay range and make you far more desirable to major corporations.
2Many companies will help pay for your tuition while you work for them.
3.Any experience in the business world will help prepare you for running your own business.

You do not have to pick only one option; that is a "you can't have your cake and eat it too" mentality." Successful people work the system for all it's worth and have most of their desires met. Good luck!

You seem to be confused and indecisive. Just take some time out and think what is your end objective and then take a right call.
