At mornings when I wake up I feel very tired, but when I get up I'm always hyperactive and I can't sit down without doing something. When I go to sleep at night I need about 2 hours to fall asleep, maybe more. Sometimes I don't sleep at all. I've already tried drinking milk, but even that doesn't work anymore. What do I do?

I used to struggle to get to sleep all the time. Now I don't worry about it. You are probaly out of sink with your natural sleeping patturn.

Try not to think about getting to sleep and how long it is taking you. The more you worry about not being asleep the harder it is to de-stress and fall asleep. Read a book, soak in the bath or listen to music. Just relax and you will fall asleep when your brain is ready to switch off.

Lavander is a relaxing smell so maybe put some nder your pillow. Drink plenty of water and exercise during the day. Warm milk or camomile tea before bed is sleep inducing.

Make your bedroom as cosey as possible turn off your mobile phone and get your head down, you'll soon be dozing away.

I'm very hungover at work today and all this sleep talk is making me weary. I'm sending you tired vibes!!!!

Drinking milk? The oldtimers would drink WARM MILK> it works as a sedative. Also, do NOT have anything with caffeine in it such as sodas or chocolate. Caffeine will keep you wired and you won't be able to sleep. If you're taking any medications ask your pharmacist if they could be keeping you up as well. You need some DOWN time before bed too. Don't be exercising or running around. Lay in bed and watch a tv show to relax or maybe read a book or magazine........ a boring one to make you fall asleep lol Good luck to you and if this persists you should make a doctor appt cuz if your body doesn't get enough rest or sleep alot of things go wrong.

well that depends on a lot :

1- do you drink much caffeine ( coffee tea ..... ) if you do try to drink less even the decaffs it doesn't work !
2- try to calm down before you go to sleep don't exercise or any thing like that that would make you hyperactive and wont make you sleep easily
3- do you wake up late if you do you would have to wake up early
4- are you taking any medications some times it may result in some insomnia

that's all what i can think of right now ! hope it helps :) you can try to read a boring book some times that makes wonders ! it works for me :)

Try having a hot bath before you want to go to bed. Dont' do anything too stimulating for about an hour before either.. just chill out or read something simple. Only have 7-8 hours sleep a night and no napping. Also, try upping your exercise levels a bit - or do something fun like an hour on the dance mat or have a vigerous clean. Good luck x

Try reading a book in bed for a while, or even watching quiet TV if you have a TV in your room. The easiest way to fall asleep is sometimes to stop trying so hard. Try to exercise in the morning rather than in the late afternoon/evening as exercise ups your energy for a few hours. And of course don't drink anything with caffeine in it in the afternoon/evening!

Seeing that you are hyperactive, take the energy and do some sports. But get a sport type that you won't get tired off (mentally, in other words get something that you really love). Squash is a great game for everyone. You'll be having fun, feeling good about yourself and sleep a lot better. Good Luck!

I read a good book for a while in dim light.
I can never get to sleep at night cos am always thinking of wot's going on the next day or things I need to sort out. Reading a book takes my mind off things and dim light while reading seems to work!
PS I've been doing this for years and I don't wear glasses. (My mum always used to tell me I would damage my eyes doing this)

Do more exercise during the day to tire your body out, or go to bed later. It sounds like you'll lose sleeping time but maybe you are over sleeping and are therefore tired from this.

Try to be busy in the day time and will find out that you will sleep well at night.
Also pray that God should give you sleep and make you strong. I dont know if you are a christian, in case you are, see what the bible says in the book of plsams that HE giveth beloved sleep. If a believer you are among the people he is talking about.
