coffee grounds (used) and tea bags will make soil acidic. Epsom Salts can be used also. Very inexpensive.

I do not know of a source of slightly acidic sandy soil. You may want to contact a landscape contractor who may be able to suggest a source.

If you are planting a pot and plant (or perhaps a few) then the coffee grounds suggestion may be the way to go.

If you have a large area:
Add spagnum peat moss into the soil you are amending. Sphagnum peat moss is not the same as sphagnum moss. Take soil samples and send them to a soil testing lab. They have plenty of test types to choose from, so tell them what you are doing and they can recommend the right test. They will also tell you how to take and ship the soil samples. The test result report will give you the rates at which to mix sphagnum peat moss homogenously into the soil you are amending.

Less expensive option: call a soils lab in the area of the project and ask them what the general appplication rate is for mixing in the s.p. moss.

Sphagnum peat moss will last about 9-10 years mixed into soil. You can buy it at most garden stores or hardware stores.
