On the site below there is a link to "Lower Food Web." it describes the Chesapeake Bay web of animal and plant starting at the lowest level, the plankton community.

There are links to many other animals and plants. I believe they are all in and around the Bay, so this can help you start, but you may need more that what you will find here:

to make a food web i think you must first right down the producers , the primary consumers and the secondary consumers in separate columns .

Then you must join each of the separately to make a food chain . There must be at least 4 of them .It will be better if its an even number .

the bring the together and join each of the giving a common producer and a common consumer .

Now adjust the chains to look like a web and your food web is ready .

just ask them what can of food they like and then give a web of cloth and some leaves of plants to chew and in the end take their puffies and make it fertilizer.

How to make a food chain, well how much space you got...you need to have enough space to start with...plants followed by insects followed by insect eating insects followed by insectivors followed by carnivores...you got to have a whole field for that assortment of stuff!
