Pay lots of attention to the foundation--many people don't, and the results are not pretty. Dig a trench 24" deep, fill it with 18" of crushed stone (or even better, concrete) and build on that.
Do not build higher than 3' without getting help from an engineer.

You have to install drainage on all the levels.
Cut it in at levels for a stepped foundation.
Length the level to the contour of the hill and the angle of assent. Obviously a steep hill has levels like 3-5 ft and a gradual slope has more like 10-20 ft long levels.

it is the work of a engineer if want to do it just do it
1. first of all dig the hill at intervals of 10feet
2. erect colums in each hole the whole size should be 4cubic feet
3. put a beam following the countours and then erect wall on that beam
