Yep every country in the world has the right to use nuclear technology! no matter how horrible or misguided! they may be.. What they don't have the right to do though is to use the technology in ways that would cause harm and dysfunction to other countries!. Iran says that it only wants to use nuclear technology in the generation of electricity.. but Its thought in the west that Iran is trying to build a bomb in order to threaten Israel and perhaps other middle eastern countries who are allied to the west....

Only time Will tell what its true intentions are!..

Every nation has a right to pursue nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. And no nation has a right to build nuclear arms. But we do not live in a perfect world.

These days nuclear technology is becoming more of an issue of national pride and aggrandizement, than its use as a source of energy. This perspective is fundamentally flawed and dangerous.

That's why I must suggest that Iran has a right to pursue nuclear technology as a source of energy and not for building nuclear arms. Nuclear arms are dangerous in the hands of responsible states and much more dangerous in the hands of irresponsible ones.

Iran signed the nuclear nonproliferation treaty (NPT) this gives it certain rights and responsibilities. It must comply with the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) inspections. It does not do this. Although Iran denies claims by the United States and other countries that it is trying to develop nuclear weapons, it does not allow full access to IAEA inspectors and it continues to enrich uranium.Therefore, it does not have the right to have nuclear power.

Nuclear technology can also be used for weapons. Iran does not have the right to have nuclear weapons, at all.

There are three parts to NPT, non-proliferation, disarmament, and the right to peacefully use nuclear technology. Under NPT Iran could build a "light water" nuclear power plant. Iran, however, has refused an offer from Russia to provide them with enriched uranium in return for ceasing to enrich their own uranium. Iran has refused the offer to build a "light water" nuclear power plant. Instead, Iran has built a "heavy water" nuclear power plant at Arak, a nuclear power plant at Bushehr and an underground nuclear research facility at Natanz.

Mohammad Nabi Rudaki stated that 164 centrifuge sets are now enriching uranium up to 4.5 percent grade....to provide our industrial and power plant needs in nuclear fuel, we will soon embark on enriching uranium to the grade of 9 percent in 3000 centrifuge sets.

Are y'all all crazy?? You don't hear the U.S., France or any western nation that has nuclear technology running their mouth about how they will wipe a country off of the map (Israel). We don't say those things the mad mullah of Iran (the president ahmadinejad) does.

And how exactly would he accomplish something like that hmmmm... Maybe a nuclear weapon. WOW! You people are crazy if you think we should let a country who supports and distributes terror around the world, threaten us with the most powerful weapon in history.

Well I really have no idea. I guess since the Geneva convention or sth like that, no country has the right to own nuclear weapons. However, countries like the U.S., Israel and North Korea have nuclear weapons, so it makes me wonder why is this such a taboo for Iran when in other countries its alright?!

Yes...why not ?
America would love to use this as a pretext for war..but given America,s large and overwhelming credibility gap particularly of this administration, of who is a threat and who isn't .
Iran might do well to firmly have China and Russia on its side, because America and Israels' corporate interests are gunning for Iran!

1- It's either legal for every country to work on developing its nuclear technology, so USA has no right to accuse anybody of developing such power, or;

2- it's illegal for the whole world to develop nuclear power, so the USA and the other countries who have nuclear power should be disarmed of.

Other than that, I'd call it a DOUBLE STANDARD!
