I have sky dived 11 times, and didn't notice any problem with breathing. I assume that if I can breath I can scream or talk; whistling however may be a problem.

Boy you sure can scream when falling from a 10 story building, and believe me it helps a lot. Nobody is going to run to help you if you don't scream, and I mean scream really loud. Like, hey this is really serious stuff, and all, so let it all out and bloody yell like crazy.

In those crazy gangster movies, the bad guys used to like smoke a cigarette on the way down. Well, I gotta tell ya, that doesn't work to good. Better to yell real loud...

First time sky divers say it helps to get the fear out of your system if you yell all the way down. They should know, you know, 'cause they jumped at, like, 8 - 10,000 Feet. I am not to sure about that though. About the most I have jumped is over a stick in the woods.

Depends on the distance. Though, even during a short fall you might manage to get a "AH-" *thud*

If you're screaming from that short a fall, then you're a total weenie. People should point and laugh.

yes, the sound is caused by air rushing over your larynx, the falling wouldn't impede the air from your lungs being pushed out.
