If you want a no BS media player that can handle any file try the free "BS Player" that comes with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
This plays 99% percent of all video and audio files out there so you'll never be at a loss for codecs again.
It may not be as fancy as some better known media players but is quite fast and functional.
I also use Real Player 10, Quicktime 7 and Windows Media Player 11, MusicMatch Jukebox, DivX Create, etc....(depending on the mood if nothing else, and the encoding capabilities of some mind you)
Ans arsenal of media players and encoders is the best choice for a media enthusiast but for most users BS Player provides more than enough playability.Hope this helps!

windows media player is the best i feel cuz its good but itunes search is better but for music download i use limewire

well my best media player is windows media player, the default media player that comes with windows, and there is also the media player classic, this one can operate about all kinds of formats, including, the quicktime, realmedia, and others
