i almost never use IE, only sometimes just for the hek of it. But is Opera a good browser just to have around? Also, are there other browsers worth downloading? thanks.

Opera is nice, you should try, it doesn't really harm, does it ?
Other browser that you might like:
Flock, is a variant of Firefox, based on the Gecko engine. Very cool, it includes integeration with Flickr, Delicious, and has Blogging tool. Goto flock.com.
Maxthon, is a variant of IE. It's a nice replacement for those website which needs IE. It support tabs internally (better than those add-in for IE6). It is also skinnable.

no need for opera because firefox is better than it. if you want chnge then download new themes for firefox.
