If they are going to be a suicide bomber, why kill normal people when they could do the prime minister?

It doesn't make sense.... Any suggestions to why they don't go after the likes of Blair?

If you get rid of someone like Blair, who's to say you don't end up with someone even worse? Twisted as it is, some people rejoice when an unpopular politician gets assassinated...but no one (at least not without their own agenda...terrorists and some politicians...the names Chaney and Bush jump to mind) rejoices
when civilians die...it's also true that it's a lot harder to get closer to politicians normally...it is admittedly a weird question...better no one should be killed in the first place...but the world sadly will never reach that level

They want to create chaos and panic. It's a fact that the masses aren't too bright, so by creating chaos and fear they can manipulate them. A perfect example is Spain, when terrorists bombed commuter trains a few days before the presidential elections. The government, which was contributing troops to Iraq, was way ahead in the polls. After the bombing, the electorate shifted, and the opposition won. Actually, the terrorists won.

Because they intend to terrorise folk like you and me.

Regardless of who reigns on the seat of power in whichever part of the world you live in, it's the voting people out on the street that ultimately runs the show. Taking out politicians just doesn't have the same social effect as hitting soft targets en masse.

The political elite have an agenda that's self-serving and is difficult to sway. Joe Public also has an agenda that is self-serving, but it can quite easily be swayed by the media.

The general public is an easy target, and the outrage caused is meant to shock the politicians into obeying the terrorists' demands. However, the real terrorists are the ones in power.

Why do politicians attack innocent people when it's the terrorists they should be going after? Ordinary people are scape goats on both sides.

because they are an easier target and the general public genuinly care about other innocent people getting attacked. It gets their missguided cause media attention.

Politicians are quite happy slautering thousands of innocent men, women and children for no good reason but who would care if they were attacked apart from themselves.

I hear people say Bush and Blair should be the ones bombed and yes i agree Ooops! but one of them drops dead, there will be another one like him taking over, and not only that they are heavely guarded and no chance.

You are right why kill innocent people! and most of the people that do get killed are poor. If Bin Ladin wants to kill someone kill Bush.

why can't people live in peace.

As the name implies... terrorists... their objective is terrorize the masses, thus leading a country into widespread chaos.

There is more chaos generated when terrorists attack the civilians as compared to an assasinated leader.
