I think many guys are, or at least have some attraction to their friends of the same sex, because humans are sexual beings, and sexual preference is merely a preference, not an either-or mandate. However, I think what happens in most situations, especially with young guys, is that they have guy envy--meaning they have a really hot friend, a friend who gets a lot of girls, they may have a large penis or some other fascinating object of obsession, and guys will flock or follow them around, often simulating a "groupie" relationship. More than being sexually attracxted to this friend, they may wish to become that friend--it's hard to tell the difference. I know that the majority of guys have had a same sex experience, whether it be mutual masturbation or something more. That doesn't mean they are gay, obviously, because 90% or more of men are straight. And aside from these confused thoughts, insecurities, happenchance attractions, experimenting, and envious feelings, there is little chance for it to grow into a full-fledged homosexual relationship, because that's just not how nature works.

Because just like straight people don't find everyone of the opposite sex attractive, gay people don't find everyone of the same sex attractive.
