see, i think i'm just a tad ignorant about the politics in Kenya.i think it's important that i know whats going on around me but politics is sooo boring!!i am voting for the first time next year so it would be nice to be able to make an informed decision. any ideas?

You don't to go that way back in history, but some historical perspective is needed. I'd suggest just to go back to the beginnings of Daniel Arap Moi and from then start to trace the struggles for democracy. If you're going to be politically active (and you should) you'd better side with the fight for democracy, which runs counter to the current status quo.

You can stand for an election. That should acquaint you with most of the legalities of polity.
