That only works if the person has a good enough vocabulary, and the longer the word, the less likely that is to work. But for simple words, there shouldn't be a problem.

Only if you have been educated in our language and/or do not have a reading disorder. My father is from Hungary and he had a hard time reading your paragraph. My dyslexic son had a difficult time reading your paragraph as well. I read it just fine. My son is 17 and severly reading impaired. My father struggled to learn English and has been in this country 50 years. I am 47 and have a Master's degree in English. Enough said.
