I have 3 sections and i most definitely found the first the worst, the second better than the first and the third better than the first two. Not sure why this is but I would assume to do with the amount of nerve damage in the scar area.

No, the pain isn't worse nor is the scar larger. They cut away the old scar and discard the scar tissue.You will have a completely new scar.
You have already been through one C-section, if you must have your second child delivered Cesarean you've been through it all before and know what to expect. With an epidural blocking pain from your waist down you should be just fine.You really wont feel much of anything.
Now if you are having any other procedure done at the same time such as having tubes tied, the surgery following the delivery would be longer.And in this case you may experience a little more discomfort during your first day of recovery.
Whether you have a C-section alone, or another procedure done at the same time, the key to a painless recovery is to stay on top of your pain medication in the hospital and at home. Do not let time lapse between doses because if your pain meds do wear off it seems to take quite some time for relief of that pain that creeps upon you.
Otherwise take a deep breath, inform your anesthesiologist of any discomfort or nausea. He can adjust the levels being administered and make you more comfortable.There isn't really anything you need to do so remember what miracle is taking place and concentrate on the birth of your new baby! You'll forget all about any pain.

I've had 2 c-sections. The 1st was painful and more stressful because I didn't know what to expect. It was scary. The second was painful. I mean, my gosh, my tummy had just been cut and tugged around, and stretched all over then shut closed with 18 rock hard staples. On my first, my doctor used 34 small, thin staples. I was upset that I had 18 large staples to close me up on the second time around from a different doctor.
I would tell you that it varies a lot! From what I have read on here, C-section experiences from other women aren't always the same. But very similar.

I can't really tell you if the pain is worse than the second time, because I am a VBAC (vaginal delivery after Cesarean). I know I didn't experience much pain the first time.

Is this a planned event, the second C-section? Or do you believe that it is the only way possible to give birth? Older methods of "once a C-section, always a C-section" do not necessarily ring true today.

I'm gonna be honest with you. Last week I had my 3rd C-section and my tubes tied as well. Girl, I was on my butt with pain far more than any of those two for a lot longer. The doctors told me the more C-sections you have the worse off they get.

But, to answer your quesiton..the 2nd c-section didn't hurt as much as the 3rd..it was tolerable most certainly.

I had 2 natural births before I had a c section and I can tell you that I'd rather have a c section over a natural birth any day. I don't care if you have 1 2 or 3 c sections, nothing is as bad as a natural birth!!

Don't know, my son is 2years 3month and I still bare what looks like a huge bruise above my scar where he was a emergency crash section- where they dash you off on the trolley and the next thing you know you have a baby. I couldn't sit down and was like princess and the p on the settee with cushions. I thought everyone was like this but apparently not I think section mothers kinda get off lightly despite my agony And being purple and swollen where they got him out, I think I got off lightly. Childbirth whichever entrance baby comes out isn't going to be easy and hopefully either way the pain can be forgotten when your bundle of joy arrives.

Absolutely, POSITIVELY....the first is the worst. It feels like they gutted you. Also, from what I understand, women who have their baby natural, and then have a hysterectomy, go thru the same kind of pain. My second C-section was a breeze compared to the first.

Very difficult to quantify. Pain is a individual experience and everyone has different pain thresholds. Any concerns should be discussed with The Anaesthetist controlling your pain during the procedure.

i had 2, the 2nd one was definitely less painful than the 1st. in most cases pp will feel better the second tme round, unless of course u get infection
