many of the ancients believed in different gods and goddesses both greek and roman mythology is loaded with them but where did it originate ? the Bible book of Genesis Ch 6 :1-4 tells of their origin and eventual destruction but like any great story the legend lives on but in reality there is onluy one true God and you can find his name in Ps 83 : 18 OKJV hope that clears this up gorbalizer

If you read homers work , he answers ur question more beautifully when he say that "I talk a walk among gods" or some thing of that sort . To be in the presence of such entities , individuals which are more then human could make any ordinary , simple person to accept them as god or goddess rather then to comprehend the reason for the greatness for such people . Even if I would have lived among the time of MOSSES or CHRIST , I may have agreed to accept them as god.

For me, definitely NO. But for those who believe in them, YES. It's for you to decide anyway, not me. :)
