It's close but if I had to chose I probably like anime better.
anime: Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo/Universe/in Tokyo, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop and though I didn't get to watch it much I thought Fullmetal Alchemist was pretty good too.
cartoons: Garfield, Spongebob, The Fairly Oddparents, Ducktales, South Park and Family Guy.
