I listened to a nice song. It starts with the lyrics "We skipped the light fandango..."; I know it has been taken from an original classical track by Bach...who has further information about it?

It's from 'A Whiter Shade of Pale', by Procol Harem, and the original is Bach's 'Air on a G-string'. Willie Nelson and Annie Lennox, to name just two, are have also covered Procol Harem's song, although Bach's tune is less noticable in their versions..

You have listened to "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum, the organ line for which is heavily inspired by Bach's "Sleepers Awake" and "Air on a G String"

I can't add anything to the previous answer.

Bach was a musical genius who set the pattern for much of what we consider modern music. I have always loved his compositions, and many people don't even recognize them as classical music.
