To be honest, I'm not sure what is required for an Iraqi to be allowed to immigrate to the US, especially under the current political climate that most likely is inspiring your decision to emigrate from your home country to provide a better life for your child and family. I see that you posted this question in the Detroit travel section of Yahoo Answers so I'm assuming that you are aware of the fact the Dearborn, Michigan (which is right next to Detroit) has the largest population of Arabs/Muslims/Iraqi's (Christian Chaldean and Muslim), I believe, anywhere inside the United States and may be a decent place to re-settle and assimilate into American society if you are successfully able to come here; actually, I believe there are many Iraqi-Americans living in this general area. You may want to contact US Immigration at the link below for more info and perhaps the link for Canadian immigration services may also be of interest as another possible new home to escape the turmoil in Iraq- I'm not sure if Canada has a more liberal/open immigration policy, especially towards Iraqi's, or not. Otherwise, check out the organizations below and good luck- I just hope you are not rejected because somebody else took your spot by coming here illegally to make money when they clearly aren't facing the same hardships as you are. One more thing to consider, is that I have absolutely no idea how reputable/honest any of these non-governmental agencies may be so be careful that they do not try to take advantage of you and/or steal your money.

If I have been Iraqi i might connect the Iraqi military to preserve my countrymen and the elected government from the terrorists. that's a shame that as quickly as given a decision between having Iraq governed by ability of a central authority elected by ability of the Iraqi human beings and terrorists - you help the terrorists.

If you are a western loving, non radical, terrorism hating muslim we would love to have you.. otherwise please stay where you are. We are already having two many problems with Muslims as it is.
